Special Teams POW – Oct. 2

Year: Senior      Age: 17

Positions: CB/WR/KR

Performance: Cooley returned a kickoff 84 yards for a touchdown, caught an interception and a reception for touchdown as a bright spot in JM’s 51-20 loss to No. 2 Deep Run.

Best game?: No, I don’t think so. My first year playing for TJ I caught seven passed for 140-something yards and two touchdowns. I also had an interception.”

Difference between playing for TJ and JM: “JM likes to run the ball a whole lot. Our practices are a little more aggressive.”

Favorite class: “Government.”

Favorite NFL player: “Randy Moss.”

On JM’s win over Patrick Henry weeks later: “We just ook a long time to realize our talent. We just had to want to. We just felt like we had something to prove.”

Funniest teammate:Frank Bullock. Frank will make anybody laugh. Players, teachers, coaches, Frank will make you laugh.”

XBox 360 or PS3: “PS3.”

Facebook or MySpace: “MySpace.”

2 interceptions or 100 yards and a TD: “100 yards and a TD.”

Big hitter: Cooley had a great scoop tackle against Armstrong. “At halftime they were saying they wanted a better hit than I had.”

Importance of special teams: “I think special teams are very important. That’s where everything starts. Some games are decided on special teams.”

Kool-Aid: “All of my friends call me that. They always say I used to shake people up like Kool-Aid so…”
